Duchess was rescued from a Coryell County property. All of the animals on the property were found living in very poor environmental conditions. Conditions inside the dwelling were deemed dangerous for both the humans and animals. Duchess along with Duke, Prince and Princess were brought to IEAS after a judge granted permanent custody of the 300 plus animals rescued from the property to the Houston SPCA. On March 8th, with the help of the Houston Zoo and the Houston SPCA, the four arrived at their new home. The female cougar was happy to be at her new home. She has made herself comfortable in her cave during the day and on her high perch during the late evening hours. She was a little shy at first but has warmed up to her new neighbors, Allie and Rasul.
