The four grizzly bears were 16 months old when they arrived at IEAS. They were born at a facility that had an older pair of grizzly bears they didn't think were capable of breeding. The birth of these cubs caused a problem int hat the facility didn't have the habitat in which to properly keep the cubs or the financing to build such a habitat. Help support Papa Bear.

Personality Traits

Papa Bear was named by the Stemmons Foundation who generously donated the funds needed to build his habitat. Papa Bear is a laid back bear. He is by far the tallest of his siblings and seems to be the dominant one out of the bunch. You will most likely see Papa playing in the pool with a stick of even some of his left over food. He loves to take his meal into the pool and try to fit it down the waterfall spout. It's a lovely game he plays with the keepers, who have to fish it out the next day. You can tell by the look in his eye that Papa is very inquisitive. He is usually the first one to come over and check out anything new.
