Samson's owners were not able to spend the time required to properly care for him. They provided some of the funds to help build his habitat. Samson's prized possession is his tire. He is never far from where it's laying. If someone gets too close to the tire, he will go over and guard it close. Samson is a very affectionate lion. His character is that of a lovable teddy bear with those he likes and trusts. He moans loudly as he approaches a friend, and one can see the joy and happiness on his face as he lies down as close as possible to his visitor. Louis, Animal Behaviorist, visits Samson on a regular basis. Louis works with Samson using our Emotional Enrichment Program. Samson almost always comes over to Louis, except for the days he is being protective of his tire, and he lies down next to him allowing Louis to stroke his mane. Sam would lie there for hours allowing Louis to so, if only Louis had that much time to spend with him. Help support Samson.
