Whoofers came to IEAS as a result of a drug raid in Houston. Discovered in poor condition, Whoofers required extensive care before she could be sent to the Sanctuary. Dr. Karen Kemper and the Houston Zoo donated their services. She had a severe case of rickets and required dental surgery due to poor nutrition which included implanting an artificial canine. She has fused vertebrae in her spine, bad hip and shoulder movement, and bad teeth. All are due to a very poor diet as a cub. She is on medication for the rest of her life to help her movement in her joints.
