Map & Directions

Google Map of The Sanctuary
The Sanctuary is located on Texas Highway 114 on the dividing line in-between the towns of Boyd and Aurora in Wise County. We do not have a typical street address that can be accurately input or tracked via any of the popular online mapping resources. We strongly suggest you use a hardcopy map to get the best bearing for our location. 81/287 is a major thoroughfare that runs north out of Fort Worth. 81/287 intersects Highway 114 in Rhome, TX (approx. 13 miles south of the city Decatur.) The Sanctuary is three miles west of the intersection of 81/287 and 114 as you travel west towards Bridgeport on 114.

From Dallas:Approx 50 miles

Take Hwy 114W past the north entrance to DFW Airport; follow signs toward Bridgeport. You will pass through Roanoke and the Texas Motor Speedway which is located at the intersection of Hwy 114 West and I35W. Continue west on Hwy 114 for approx. 13 miles. Hwy 114W and 81/287 merge; you will get onto 81/287 North for one exit -- take the 114W to Bridgeport exit. Turn left at the stop sign off the exit ramp to continue west on Hwy 114. The Sanctuary will be on your right 3 miles ahead (just past a stoplight at an intersection with the "Tater Junction Restaurant" and "Dunn's Produce and Nursery."

From Fort Worth:Approx 35 miles

Take 35W north to Hwy 81/287 toward Decatur. Take the Hwy 114W exit to Bridgeport. Turn left onto Hwy 114 West at the stop sign just off the exit ramp; the IEAS is 3 miles ahead on the right just past a stoplight at an intersection with the "Tater Junction Restaurant" and "Dunn's Produce and Nursery."

From Decatur:Approx 17 miles

Take Hwy 81/287 south toward Ft. Worth. Take the Hwy 114W exit to Bridgeport. Turn right at the stop sign off the exit ramp to head West on Hwy 114. The IEAS is 3 miles ahead on the right just past a stoplight at an intersection with the "Tater Junction Restaurant" and "Dunn's Produce and Nursery."

Driving Directions provided by Google appear to be the most accurate of all the online mapping resources at this junction but likewise we've seen them go from great to blatently incorrect as Texas Highway 114 expands to a divided road and seemingly more businesses and developments request accurate tracking information. The cats, bears and humans at the Sanctuary strongly suggest you use a hardcopy map to pinpoint where 114 intersects 81/287....the IEAS is three miles west of that intersection on the north side of 114.
