Providing a Safe and Caring Environment for Exotic Animals

Intern Gallery

Below you will find some pictures and videos of IEAS Interns.  While here, interns perform a variety of duties as you will see!  One day we might be cementing a pool to fix a leak or mowing and weeding the grounds.  The next day we may be painting habitats or raking leaves.  After work, interns can participate in our Emotional Enrichment Program if they wish to do so.  Tasks can change with the seasons, but one thing is for sure...there is always work to be done.  We encourage anyone interested in doing an internship here at IEAS to check out this page to see what your typical day could be like and so you know what to expect.

This internship will help you to decide very quickly if this is really what you want to do as a career.  You will get dirty and work long hours in all kinds of weather conditions.  But if you work hard, you will be able to learn so much that will take you to the next step in your animal welfare career.  Take a look what these past interns had to say of their experience:

Dana says:  "This internship is not for the faint of heart.  They will work you hard, expect the best from you and help you succeed in whatever your future endeavors may be."

Emily says:  "This internship was as rewarding as it was demanding.  It was through this opportunity that I learned a great life lesson, which was, the more you put into something the more you get out of it.  The work at the Sanctuary is extremely difficult as there is much more to caring for these animals than feeding them."
