New Cave for the Bears
Date: 12-13-2011
After working long and hard the past four days, one of the two caves in Bear Orphanage is complete. It was a good learning experience for our new interns. They enjoyed getting their hands dirty to provide these bears with additional shelter for the winter. Lucky and Lucy didn't waste anytime going in to inspect the cave. I think we won their seal of approval as they were in there spreading out their hay making their bed. Today we will work on laying the roof of the second cave and should have it complete and ready to go by the weekend...weather permitting. We know these bears have the capability of digging their own dens, which they have done in the past, but we like to provide them with additional shelter during the winter if they choose to use it.
