THREE OF THE IEAS BEARS HAVE BEEN NAMED!
Bill
One of our black bears has been named "Bill" by Denny Kelly, who has generously donated funds for his habitat and maintenance.
Papa Bear
One of the grizzly bears has been named "Papa Bear" by the Stemmons Foundation, which has generously donated funds for the habitat construction.
Willie
Another grizzly bear has been named "Willie" by Phil and Karen Drayer, who have also generously donated funds for the habitat construction.
We still need your help
We still have 2 grizzly bears that need to be named, and any individual, foundation, or corporation that donates $10,000 for their habitat construction will have the opportunity to name one of these lovely bears.
One of the remaining unnamed grizzlies is a female, and she has a very endearing personality. She is a favorite of many of the caregivers that work with the bears, as she initiates a great deal of the play - some a bit destructive, and always seems to have a smile on her face and a glint in her eye.
We also now have two baby black bears that were orphaned in Wyoming when her mother was killed. The cubs are at the Sanctuary and available for viewing. They will melt your heart. An individual, foundation, or corporation can name one of these babies for a $10,000 donation for their permanent habitat construction.
We also need to feed and maintain these bears, of course, and would appreciate donations of any amount to help us in this wonderful undertaking.
We invite all to come out and see the bears and enjoy their antics and play; everyone will be amazed at how much energy they have and the many ways they can find to entertain themselves. We promise you will leave with a smile on your face.
Rani
Female Tiger Born Sept 4, 1987
Rani turned 20 years old on September 4th. Rani is the oldest tiger at the Sanctuary and quite possibly one of the sweetest. Rani loves when visitors come to sit by her habitat. She greets everyone with a chuff, and will usually lie down by her visitor and go to sleep. Visit Rani on the website to read more about her and how she arrived at IEAS.
Mau & Stacey
Mau: Male Cheetah
Stacey: Female Cheetah
Born on Sept 21, 2003
Mau and Stacey will turn 4 years old this month. They arrived at the Sanctuary in February 2004, and since then have grown into two, happy, healthy cheetahs. It brings us great joy to be able to give these amazing cats such a high quality life, free from any stress or agitation. These two are always one of the favorites on tours at IEAS. See if you can spot one of the cheetahs in their 15,000 sq. ft. habitat! Visit our website to see more pictures of these beautiful cats! Get up close and personal with Stacey while you watch her eat here afternoon snack. Watch Mau as he strolls the perimeter, surveying his habitat.
