NOVEMBER BIRTHDAYS

Barnum

Male Bengal Tiger
Born November 9, 1993

Barnum will be 14 years old this month. Barnum was seized from a Spanish Circus and he arrived from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in Brownsville, Texas. He was named by Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus.

Whoofers

Female Bengal Tiger
Born November 13, 1988

Whoofers will be 19 years on November 13th. Whoofers is the second oldest tiger at the Sanctuary, and probably one of the sweetest. Whoofers will always greet her friends with a "chuff," which is a tiger's way of saying hello. She likes to have those she trust sit by her habitat and spend time with her.

Simba III

Male Bengal Tiger
Born November 23, 1995

Simba III will be 12 years old this month. Simba arrived back in 1997 after the USDA seized him from a petting zoo. He was extremely malnourished and was over 100 lbs. underweight. Since then, Simba has had a full recovery. He now lives in a spacious habitat with a house, grass, trees and a pool with a waterfall. When you visit, you may be able to see catch a shot of Simba in his waterfall!

Lexus

Male Lion
Born November 24, 1995

Lexus will also be 12 years old this month. This year, Lexus didn't want to wait for Halloween to get his pumpkin so he grew his own.

Watch the video of the IEAS keeper as they cut down the wild pumpkin and give it to Lexus for enrichment!

JUST A REMINDER

If you still have your Halloween pumpkins around, don't throw them out! Bring them to the Sanctuary! All of the animals love them! The cats love to play with them and the bears... well, they love to eat them!
