Tassers will be 20 years old this month. Tassers lives with another male bobcat, Tiger. Tiger and Tassers are two very curious cats. Whenever the IEAS keepers have to work on their habitat, they must something to distract Tiger and Tassers. For example, if the habitat needs to be raked, the keepers will bring an extra leaf bucket to let these two inquisitive cats play with. You can see a video of Tiger and Tassers being "distracted" here.

Shasta Shasta

Male Cougar
Born May 9, 1993
Arrived July 9, 1993

Shasta will be 15 years old on May 9th. Shasta is one of two cougars here at IEAS that has a very high metabolism. However, if we give him too much food in the mornings he won't eat it. So what we usually do is give him his regular food for breakfast in the morning and then he gets a tasty snack in the evening as well. This keeps Shasta very happy and he looks forward to this treat every evening. It keeps the staff happy too, since they are able to keep Shasta at a healthy weight despite his high metabolism. You can learn more about Shasta here.

Tali Mia Mia & Tali

Female Amur Leopards
Born May 12, 1997
Arrived January 25, 1998

Mia & Tali will be 11 years old this month! When interns first arrive at IEAS, they are always trying to learn ways to tell who's who? "How can you tell the difference?" they ask. Well, with Mia and Tali, there are many ways to tell the difference between them. For one thing, they have different personalities. The easiest way to explain to the interns is by their looks. If you look closely, Mia (top) has larger spots on her face which makes her face appear darker than Tali's. Tali (bottom) has smaller spots on her face which makes it look lighter. Visit Mia and Tali's pages and watch some videos to see if YOU can tell them apart!

Bob9 Bob9

Male Bobcat
Born May 12, 1994
Arrived June 1, 1995

Bob9 also has a birthday on May 12th! He will be 14 years old. Bob is the first cat that you will see when you come for a tour of IEAS. He is usually napping on his perch. Bob's owner traveled a great deal and realized that he did not have the time to take proper care of him. That is when he came to IEAS. You can see more pictures of Bob here.

Bruno Bruno

Male Tiger
Born May 12, 1994
Arrived June 1, 1995

Bruno will be 15 years old this month. Bruno is usually a favorite of many visitors to IEAS. He loves to come out when a tour group walks by his habitat. Sometimes he will just come out and chuff, to see what is going on. Other times, when the weather gets warmer, he will show off in his pool with one of his toys. Be sure to stop by and see Bruno if he is out during you tour at the Sanctuary. He loves the attention! You can see more pictures and videos of Bruno here.
