DonorBridge UPDATE!

PixieEarlier we mentioned a wonderful way to donate to the animals of IEAS through DonorBridge, and make your donation go further for the animals than ever before! Please note that the date has been changed to September 8, 2010 from 7am to 7pm. Donorbridge is an online portal created by the Communities Foundation of Texas (CFT) where potential donors can do research on nonprofit organizations that match their philanthropic interests. To help promote DonorBridge, CFT is planning a "Giving Day" on September 8th where donations made through the DonorBridge site will have the opportunity to receive matching funds. A minimum donation of $25 is required by the Communities Foundation of Texas to be eligible for matching.

BarnumYes. You heard right! If you donate to the animals of IEAS through the DonorBridge website on September 8thth from 7am to 7pm, your donation will be matched by the foundation! Credit cards that will be accepted are American Express, Visa, Mastercard, and Discover. If you do not have a computer available to you at this particular time, please call our office at 940-433-5091 on September 8th and we will be happy to take care of the transaction for you. This is an excellent opportunity to help raise money for all of the animals of IEAS. So please re-mark the dates on your calendar today!

DON'T MISS OUT ON THIS GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE YOUR DONATION GO FURTHER THAN EVER TO HELP THE AMAZING ANIMALS OF IEAS.

AUGUST BIRTHDAYS

Barbara Barbara

Female Serval
Born August 1, 2004
Rescued: August 2008

Barbara will be six years old this month! Last spring we planted some bushes in many of the smaller cats' habitats to provide them with extra shade and a nice, private place to rest. Not all of bushes survived this last year...and not because of lack of watering! Some of the cats liked to bat them and play with them, some chewed on them and some cats, like Barbara, liked to lay on them. She still has one out of the three we planted left, so we will see if that one makes it through this summer!

Taj Taj

Male Siberian Tiger
Born August 1, 1992
Rescued: November 1, 1992

Taj will be 18 years old this month! Taj likes to spend most of the day in his nice, cool house but he will usually come out when a tour passes by. You will usually hear him chuff at you when you pass. In the afternoon, he likes to come out and cool off in his pool.

Akbar, Arusha and Kumar

Bengal Tigers
Born August 14, 2004
Rescued: September 15, 2004

AkbarAkbar, Arusha and Kumar will be six years old on August 14th! Sometimes when you have more than one animal in a habitat, it can make feeding time a little bit difficult. Sometimes they like to switch and go in a different house than they did the day before, and they might get the wrong food. These three tigers never really have that problem. Kumar always eats first in the bottom house, Akbar eats second in the middle, and Arusha eats last in the top house. This makes feeding breakfast go smoothly everyday!

Arusha Kumar

Zeus Zeus

Male Bobcat
Born August 19, 1989
Rescued: January 1, 1992

Zeus will be 21 years old this month! Zeus was placed at IEAS when he was about two and a half years old because his owners moved to Boston. Zeus is the second oldest bobcat at the Sanctuary and he holds a special place in our hearts. It's hard to believe that he still gets around as well as he does. He likes to spend the hot summer days in his cool house which has a mister that blows cool air his way.

Sabrina Sabrina

Female Bengal Tiger
Born August 20, 1994
Arrived: January 1, 1995

Sabrina will be 16 years old this month. Sabrina is an extremely emotional tiger. Her personality ranges from extreme affection and a loving nature to a tempestuous, explosive, and aggressive character. Her mood swings can take place within an hour. She epitomizes the wildness and pure uninhibited personality that characterizes wild predators and proves the point that they can never be pets.

Baby Baby

Female Bobcat
Born August 23, 1994
Rescued: January 1, 1995

Baby will be 16 years old this month. With all of the rain this past spring, we began to see lots of copperheads throughout the Sanctuary. Baby had a run in with one a few months ago. Baby wound up with just a swollen paw after the confrontation. The copperhead...well, let's just say he did not make it through the ordeal. Baby won and was back to normal just a couple of days later!
